BACTERIAL DIGESTION

The Unique line of All Natural Products available in the Thousand Trails Verde Valley Store work by a process called "Bacterial Digestion". Bacterial Digestion is the process of bacteria consuming organic matter. Bacteria feed on organic waste, deriving nutrition for growth and reproduction.

Using complex chemical reactions, the organic waste is metabolized down to water and carbon dioxide, providing the bacteria with enough energy to sustain their life.

Bacteria Digestants

Bacterial digestants are products that attack organic waste wherever it occurs. Bacterial digestants are especially useful for holding tanks, plumbing, septic tanks, grease traps and anywhere that organic waste might accumulate and cause a problem.

Humans, animals and plants all produce or cause organic waste. These organic materials accumulate at various places in the community. If not properly eliminated, they can and will cause damage and are expensive to eliminate.

The bacterial digestants in Unique Products eliminate clogs, pollution and odors by breaking down and converting the organic material into its two most basic components - carbon dioxide and water.

Bacterial Digestant Product Components

 1. Bacteria Cultures

 2. Enzymes

 3. Essential Nutrients

These three components must work in harmony to digest organic waste QUICKLY and EFFICIENTLY. They produce NO ODOR or NOXIOUS GAS.

1. Bacteria Cultures

Bacteria is a single cell life form. Each individual cell is a separate, unique organism. Bacteria often grow into colonies that appear as jelly-like masses, but each cell remains an independent, individual life.

Bacteria reproduce by a process called cell division. A mature bacteria reproduces by dividing into two daughter cells, each identical to the other and the parent bacteria. Under ideal conditions, bacteria can reproduce very rapidly, producing a new generation every 20-to-30 minutes.

Beneficial Waste Digestion Characteristics

For waste digestion, we can identify several beneficial characteristics that we want our chosen bacteria to have. The "good" bacteria that we will choose must:

Consume (digest) a wide variety of organic material that are present in wastes
Digest waste quickly and completely, without producing significant odors or noxious gas
Not cause any disease in man or animals. They must be non pathogenic
Grow and reproduce quickly and readily in the environmental conditions found where odors and stains are present

Certain bacteria belonging to the Bacillus species have these desirable characteristics. They consume organic waste thousands of times faster than the bacteria that are present in the waste.

2. Enzymes

An Enzyme is a chemical catalyst that breaks up long, complex waste molecules into smaller pieces, which can then be digested by bacteria. Enzymes are simply Nature's Chemicals. They are not living things. They cannot grow or reproduce themselves. Enzymes are manufactured by bacteria in order to digest waste.

Enzymes are added to Unique Products to help bacteria work faster. The growing bacteria will then start to produce more enzymes on their own, creating a continuing cycle of enzyme production.

3. Essential Nutrients

Special nutrients are added for the fastest growth and greatest activity of the bacteria. These nutrients may not be present in the waste, and a lack of them may seriously inhibit the growth, reproduction and waste digesting performance.

Selected Special Nutrients are added to each Unique's All Natural Products to assure the fastest, most efficient digestant action.

When these three elements are combined, they promote the quick decomposition of waste with no offensive odors. If one of these components is missing however, the bacterial digestant will not be effective in eliminating organic waste. Each of these components play an important role in promoting fast, efficient elimination of organic waste.

How Bacterial Digestants Work

The basic principle behind bacterial digestants is the natural decomposition process that occurs constantly in the environment.  Bacterial digestants just speed up this natural decaying process, safely and without odors or noxious gases.

The combination of bacteria, enzymes and essential nutrients are necessary for fast decomposition of the organic waste.

In nature, bacteria need time to adjust to their environment before they can reproduce and begin to digest organic waste. The bacterial digestants in Unique All Natural Products include free enzymes to help jump start the bacteria into digestion.

These enzymes are chemical additives that break up complex waste molecules into small, simple pieces that can be digested directly by the bacteria. With the help of enzymes, the bacteria in our digestants can reproduce and consume organic waste particles immediately - resulting in the fast, complete digestion of organic waste.

Essential Nutrients And Bacteria

Essential Nutrients may not occur naturally in waste and a lack of these nutrients may seriously inhibit the bacteria's growth and reproduction.

Essential nutrients are added to UNIQUE bacterial digestants. They are like the vitamins and minerals that the human body uses.

Bacteria Selection

The bacteria contained in UNIQUE bacterial digestants are carefully selected, beneficial bacteria that occur in the environment. These bacteria are of the Bacillus species and are able to consume waste in both the aerobic (requires oxygen to live) and anaerobic (doesn't require oxygen to live) conditions. This versatile strain of bacteria also have other desirable characteristics:

Bacillus Bacteria

* Consume organic waste faster than the bacteria naturally present in the waste.

* Grow and reproduce fast and easy.

* Are non-pathogenic (won't cause disease in man or animal).

* Don't produce foul odors or obnoxious gases as they digest waste.

Superior Bacterial Digestants

There are 5 main reasons why Bacterial Digestants in Unique Manufacturing and Marketing Products are superior to ordinary Bacterial products. They are:

1. Digestant Packaging

The bacteria in UNIQUE bacterial digestants are packaged in freeze-dried spore form as opposed to the vegetative adult form.

2. Longer Shelf Life and Greater Stability

Because the spore form is in a suspended state rather than a vegetative state, our digestant in not active and wasted in the bottle.

3. Higher Bacteria Count

The bacteria count in Unique Products is approximately 65 Billion per quart.  Our digestants provide more power per application, allowing you to use less.

4. Non-Pathogenic Formula

The ingredients in bacterial digestants do not cause disease in humans or animals. Our digestants also do not produce odors or noxious gases.

5. Free Enzymes

Free enzymes are added to our digestants to help jump start the bacteria into the digestion process.  These nonliving, chemical additives prepare the organic waste for the bacteria, allowing the bacteria to digest waste at a faster than normal rate
